Why do we need vitamin B6?
Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin which is also known as Pyridoxine.
It is needed in the body to make amino acids which are the building blocks
of proteins. It also controls and looks after the nerve and digestive
system as well as making new red blood cells and antibodies. It can help
to lower cholesterol levels.

Vitamin B6 is found in food such as: meat, poultry, fish, milk, eggs,
nuts and some vegetables.
What happens if I eat too much?
Too much vitamin B6 can cause damage to the liver, and ulcers. It also
makes your blood vessels dilate (widen) causing a red flush.
What happens if I don't eat enough?
If you don't have enough vitamin B6, symptoms include mental confusion,
anaemia and dry and cracked skin.
How much should I have?
You should have about 2 mg (2 000 µg) per day.
