Uniform and PE Clothing

The College has its own uniform and PE kit which has been selected so that students will feel part of the College community. Clothing has been chosen carefully so that it is not unduly expensive, but is smart. Personal presentation is important in the world of work and we want to make sure that students develop a sense of pride in how they are turned out.

Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child's name.

Burgundy sweatshirts with the College logo can be purchased from the College and at Clive Marks and PB sports. All other articles of uniform must be purchased from the official stockists detailed below. They should not be purchased from any fashion store as they will not comply with the uniform code.

Year 7-9
Boys Uniform
  • Mid-grey trousers. Jeans or trousers with patch pockets at the back are not allowed.
  • White shirt. Long or short sleeves are permitted. Shirts must have full buttons to the neck. Shirts must be long enough to be tucked in. Only plain white t-shirts or vests may be worn under shirts.
  • College sweatshirt. Cardigans or jumpers are not allowed.
  • CTC tie.
  • Plain black or grey socks. Any other colours are not allowed.
  • Plain black shoes. Boots, trainers, shoes that look like boots or trainers, or shoes with Velcro fasteners are not allowed. Parents/carers are advised that College will not accept responsibility for expensive/designer shoes. Designer logos on shoes are not allowed.
Girls Uniform
  • Mid-grey 'A-Line' skirt. Skirts should be no shorter than 5cm above the knee. Straight lycra skirts are not allowed. Skirts with any pleats are not allowed.
  • Mid-grey trousers. Trousers should be waisted, either straight or bootleg (no wider than 28 cm). Black trousers, hipsters, or trousers with patch or back pockets are not allowed.
  • White shirt. Long or short sleeves are permitted. Shirts must have full buttons to the neck. Shirts must be long enough to be tucked in. Fitted or fashion blouses are not allowed.
  • College sweatshirt. Cardigans or jumpers are not allowed.
  • CTC tie.
  • Plain white socks (to wear with skirt.) Any other colours are not allowed.
  • Plain black or grey socks (to wear with trousers). Any other colours are not allowed.
  • Plain black or natural coloured tights (optional). Patterned tights or any other colours are not allowed.
  • Plain black, closed toe shoes. Boots, trainers, shoes that look like boots or trainers, or shoes with Velcro fasteners are not allowed. Parents/carers are advised that College will not accept responsibility for expensive/designer shoes. Designer logos on shoes are not allowed..
Years 10 and 11
Boys Uniform

  • White polo shirt. Polo shirt must have the burgundy CTC logo on the left side. College sweatshirts must be worn. Ties do not need to be worn with polo shirts.
  • Cardigans or jumpers are not allowed.

WITH

  • Plain black or grey socks. Any other colours are not allowed.
  • Plain black shoes. Boots, trainers, shoes that look like boots or trainers, or shoes with Velcro fasteners are not allowed. Parents/carers are advised that College will not accept responsibility for expensive/designer shoes. Designer logos on shoes are not allowed.

Hair and Make-Up

No extreme hair cuts or colours are permitted. Subtle make up is permitted in Years 10 and 11. The definition and judgement on what qualifies as subtle is entirely at the discretion of College staff. Students wearing excessive make up will be asked to remove it as it will breach the College Student Uniform Policy.

Jewellery

Jewellery and body/facial piercings, other than one pair of small, plain ear studs and one ring, are not to be worn in College. Students will be asked to remove any items that are not permitted.
