CTC Kingshurst Academy was the first City Technology College to be established. It continues to be a highly innovative college; heavily oversubscribed with exam results well above the national average.

The facilities at the Academy are excellent with opportunities to develop the use of ICT within subjects and contribute to a range of courses including GCSE, BTEC and the International Baccalaureate.

 

Teacher of English (x2)


Permanent and Fixed Term

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two motivated teachers of English to take part in the delivery of this core subject across the full age and ability range. One position is due to a restructuring and expansion of the department and the other is due to maternity cover. The department is well resourced, with interactive white boards in all dedicated English classrooms and a rapidly developing range of English-based extra-curricular activities in place.

CTC Kingshurst Academy received satisfactory with good features in a recent Ofsted inspection. The English department successfully increased its A*-C measure to 82% in the 2011 GCSE examination results and there is now a considerable focus on increasing the number of A* to A grades

CTC Kingshurst Academy is a highly popular, oversubscribed establishment which caters for pupils aged 11-19. As part of the conversion to Academy status the CTCKA has undergone an extensive rebuild. As part of this the science department has been completely refurbished offering a first class environment in which to teach.

We are looking to appoint a motivated and inspirational person to join our Science department from September 2012 as second in department.

This opportunity is ideal if you are ready to progress towards school leadership in a secondary school where opportunities are available for those with the right skills and capabilities and if you are able to lead, motivate and inspire a team of dedicated professionals to make a difference to our young people.
