Introducing the BRONTE Team
All year students have been assigned to a form in the Bronte college.
During registration every student is allocated to a Maths, English or Science Tutor group. As well as a focus on the pastoral needs of the students we now use the time for extra subject specific intervention. This gives students an extra hour and a half of core subject support each week.
- Monday – Assembly/assigned College activity
- Tuesday – Maths, English or Science specific intervention (dependant on the form in which you child is in)
- Wednesday – Maths, English or Science specific intervention (dependant on the form in which you child is in)
- Thursday – Maths, English or Science specific intervention (dependant on the form in which you child is in)
- Friday – Life long learning (PSHE programme)

Period 6 Information
To support out year 11 students and give them the best possible chance of success in their exams we run a series of period 6 lessons from 3:05 – 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Students have been given to opportunity to opt into these sessions in the majority of their subjects, which others been invited by subjects to improve based on their previous assessment scores.
All period 6 lessons as run by subject specialists with the aim being to work on exam preparation and revision for their upcoming examinations.
Allocated period 6 lessons will be visible to view on your child’s timetable.

Revision
It is essential that your child undertakes additional independent revision throughout Year 11. Information on revision techniques and strategies will be shared with students through their Form Time programme and can be found in the KH – Year 11 2021 TEAMs folder
Revision guides can be purchased from the IC via parent pay. This is often at a reduced price to what you would normally find in the shops and have been recommended by our subject specialists. Samples of these are available to browse in the Information Centre.
There are huge range of website out there that can support your child through their revision. A few that we recommend are:

To support your child with their revision, our subject leads have created Revision Guidance documents which detail specific information for the exams that your child will be sitting in summer.
Each guide gives details of the exam and what to expect as well as topics to be covered.
