Date – Monday 9th to Friday 13th August 2021
In response to the offer of funding by the Secretary of state for Summer School Provision. Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst chose to offer a one week summer school (WB 9th August 2021) offering a blend of academic education and enrichment activities to our incoming year 7 students. In total, the value claimed via the summer school programme was £23,299.83. Of this figure, £20,239.05 was used to staff the provision and £3,060.78 was spent on educational supplies and enrichment activities.
In total 123 students attended at one point or another throughout the week. On arrival students were placed into small groups within their College pastoral groups so they could get to know their new class mates. Throughout the week students took part in a rotation of 13 stimulating activities, which can be seen below to provide a balance of educational and enrichment activities.
Students were rewarded at the end of the week to an ice cream from our local Ice Cream van for their fantastic engagement. All students had a great time and it certainly aided transition into our Academy as previous transition days had been cancelled due to COVID restrictions. We look forward to doing something similar for our new Year 7 students in August 2022.
